Pruning

Spring is officially here!  Use the following helpful tips, from Kelsey Savage of bobvila.com, to prep your garden for beauty.

  1. Assess and Repair – check your garden for any damages that may have occurred this winter.
  2. Water – though it still may be cool outside, soak your flowerbeds on sunny days.
  3. Prune – prune all dead or diseased branches but avoid cutting early blooms.
  4. Fertilize – use regular fertilizer (at half strength) on your houseplants to give them a boost.
  5. Start Seeds – though it may be too early to plant some flowers, get started by experimenting with early- and slow-growers such as lettuce or carrots.
