People will tell you there are many ways to find the best real estate agents in Frisco, Plano, or really, any of the Dallas metroplex, but they all vary and most are subjective. Taking a more objective approach, local behemoth and taste-making monthly, D Magazine, has made it easy for Dallas residents looking to buy or sell real estate to find out exactly who the best realtors are.
Coming up in a few months, D Magazine, will again be publishing its list of the top Dallas realtors for its 2015 Best Real Estate Agents in Dallas accolade. Each year for over a decade now, D Magazine has been showcasing the most premier agents in the Dallas-area.
According to the magazine for the last year’s contest, the methodology to find “the best” agents is carried out in an almost census-like process. First, they contacted about 10,000 people. They then mailed “nomination ballots to 444 previous Best Real Estate Winners, 226 mortgage and title companies, and 5,000 D Magazine subscribers.”
They also set up a call center to make 3,800 calls to recent home buyers. In determining the Best Residential Real Estate Agents, D Magazine asked both these new home owners and subscribers to rate two agents with whom they had experience with.
What did they ask them? Well, D was meticulous in their search for the best of all Dallas, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, and Plano real estate agents: they queried respondents on “customer service, integrity, market knowledge, communication, negotiation, post-sale service, and overall satisfaction.”
Next, they asked mortgage and title companies to nominate the three Dallas real estate agents they had worked with over the year. D Magazine also asked previous Best Real Estate Agents to also choose three real estate agents—one within their firm, and two outside of their firm.
And here’s where it gets scientific: They collated all the data from these questionaries, surveys and short lists into an algorithm, “placing emphasis on feedback we received from consumers, our subscribers, and the recent home buyers.”
Each nominee was screened from the databases of the Texas Real Estate Commission and other state agencies to make sure the nominees had up-to-date real estate licenses, no past or pending disciplinary reports.
After all of this, the resulting list was just shy of 2% of all licensed Dallas-area (McKinney, Plano, Frisco) real estate agents.
