Whether you have lots of holiday routines or a just a few cherished traditions, it’s always fun to create new ones. The Jan Richey Team and their families have let us in on some of their favorite Christmas traditions!

“We spend Christmas Eve at Church. On Christmas morning we open stockings and enjoy homemade eggnog (heavy on the nog!).”

“We go to church on Christmas Eve and then stay home with our kids Lakyn (9) and Liam (5) to enjoy Christmas morning in our matching pajamas!”

“Each year the kids bake a birthday cake for Jesus and we always sing Happy Birthday to him. Since the kids bake it… it’s not normally beautiful and they typically use Devil’s Food, which is ironic! LOL”

“Our family tradition is to invite family and friends over Christmas Eve. Pull out a jigsaw puzzle, turn up the Christmas music and wait up for Santa.”

“We spend Christmas Eve with our extended family attending a candle light service followed by a Mexican food feast. After dinner we have a pretty competitive gingerbread house decorating contest.”

“Our family tradition is to open gifts on Christmas Eve. The first gift to our three children is the Baby Jesus not displayed yet on our three Nativity Sets. Each child places Baby Jesus in its Nativity scene to remind them of the reason for the season.”

“I have so many favorite traditions! Christmas is so magical with littles. I love ALL of it. One of my favs is loading up in the car in our Christmas jams with travel mugs of hot cocoa & heading over to Deerfield to look at Christmas lights.”

“Santa always makes a special stop at our house on Christmas Eve to deliver Christmas pajamas. On Christmas day we have a Christmas movie marathon with all the classics while we decorate cookies.”
