Mission of the Month | Coat Drive

by Tracy Hookstra | December 9, 2019

With winter quickly approaching, it is time for our 7th Annual Coat Drive!  Last year we collected over 150 coats to help needy Collin County children and adults stay warm, and I am hopeful that we can reach 200 coats for our 2019 drive!

This year, we will be partnering with Lisa Allen who has been selflessly collecting coats and taking them to various shelters throughout Collin County.  One of the shelters is the Plano Overnight Warming Station which is run collaboratively by The Salvation Army and members of the Collin County Homeless Coalition.  The Overnight Warming Station opens when the forecasted temperature is 35 degrees or below and provides people in need with meals and a place to stay as well as coats, socks, hats, and other basic necessities.

So, in addition to new and/or gently-used coats of all sizes, we would also like to collect socks, hats, and gloves, as there is a great need for all of these items.

Please deliver donations by Friday, December 20 either to Paula Delzellā€™s house @ 2401 Wing Point Ln., Plano 75093 or to my Keller Williams office (4783 Preston Road; Frisco, TX 75034).  At the office, please knock on our doors at the back of the building (left or middle door).

If it is more convenient, you may ship your donations via Amazon or any other website.  If you choose to ship items, we kindly request that you send them to my office:

Thank you in advance for helping our neighbors stay warm this Holiday Season.  May you and your loved ones have a Very Merry CHRISTMAS and a Blessed New Year!

Warm Regards,

Jan & Paula
