Saving a down payment for your first home

According to a recent KCM Blog post, it takes an average of eight years for a first time homebuyer in the United States to save money for their down payment (based on a 10% down payment). For Texans, that number is approximately 6.45 years. For those who qualify for a Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae 3% program, it’s less than two years! Check out this info graphic for numbers across the country.
